May 2008 - Montgomery Gentry in Concert - Nashville, TN
Montgomery Gentry
You guessed it! Montgomery Gentry was also an act that played at the NARAS (Grammy) Block party. I had never seen them live, and, like the rest of the perfomers that day, they were simply AWESOME!

Fantastic stage presence, amazing musicianship, fantastic vocals, and amazing band. These guys really know how to entertain a crowd! They seemed very personable, and you can tell they love what they do, which is great to see. If you ever get a chance to see them live, I would highly recommend it. They are GREAT! Damien Horne also played (Pics in portfolio, and all I can say is, WOW, he RULES!), and the next day, I went a bought all 4 artist's CD's. They were all phenomenal!

May 2008 - Gretchen Wilson in Concert - Nashville, TN
Gretchen Wilson
Gretchen Wilson was another artist that played at the NARAS (Grammy) Block party. She said live with her band (no lip sync here), and I was simply amazed!

I knew she was a great performer, but had no idea what a GREAT singer she is. She blew me away. Great vocal, great personality, right on pitch and a fantastic performer! She has the chops! She definitely deserves all the success she has gotten. She is definitely an amazing talent!

3 Doors Down
The NARAS (Grammy) Block party this year was simply amazing. New location, great setup, and great artists! 3 Doors Down did a set and they were absolutely great!

Very tight, and great band to see live.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

May 2008 - WOW, it's been a long time!!!
Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 years since I've updated this website. We have been so busy, it's crazy, leaving very little time to upload anything new. Since then, we have moved to Mt. Juliet, and have taken more photos than we can count. We have been booked solid for the past 3 years.

We will do our best to update the site more regularly, but no promises, as we are still booked solid and are working non stop, which is a good problem to have.

Hope you enjoy the new photos, and feel free to contact us if you need any photos taken.

May 2005 - Brad Paisley in Concert - Nashville, TN
Brad Paisley
I had always hear a lot about Brad Paisley, but had never seen him live until now. Not only did he have a great charisma on stage, but I never realized what an AMAZING guitar player he is.

Very personable and a lot of fun to watch live. He even spent some time talking to the crowd, making you feel like we were old friends. Great music, amazing musician and guitar player, great singer, great stage presence. What else can be said. Definitely a must see live to really appreciate.

May 2005 - Ronnie Milsap in Concert - Nashville, TN
Ronnie Milsap

What can be said about a legend, except how great it is to hear one live, and Ronnie Milsap sure fits that description.

Phenomenal artist and musician, he simply played with one other guitar player, while he played the piano and sang. A great performer, and a great singer that was simply a joy to watch.

May 2005 - The Crabb Family in Concert - Nashville, TN
Crabb Family
During the NARAS block party (Grammy's), we had a chance to hear and shoot The Crabb Family. All I can say is, WOW! I had never heard them or seen them before, and all I can say is, I was REALLY impressed! What amazing musicians, and the lead singer was just great to shoot. A lot of emotion and great expression and stage presence. Their music was uplifting and simply great, which probably explains why they won 4 Dove awards this year.Even if you're not a fan of gospel music, if you ever get a chance to see them live, do it, they really are great to watch and a pleasure to listen to.

February 2005 - Arena Football - Nashville Katz vs. New Orleans Voodoo
Nashville Katz
The Katz lost 59 to 34. This was the first time I shot an Arena Football game, and it was challenging, to say the least. Since there is no sideline, there is not much room to move to get the shots. The lighting is also challenging as it keeps the players faces very dark since the lighting is only coming from directly above them.

On the positive side of things, it is a GREAT game to watch and shoot! Very fast paced and a lot of fun. I hope to shoot more of them in the future.

January 2005 - Photos from France
I went back to France for Christmas and New Years. Had a chance to take a lot of photos of, not only Paris, but also went a bit south and took some great photos of a couple of castles by Tour - Chateau de Chambord (the biggest castle in France) and Chateau de Chaumont.

Also took some great new photos of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. We were lucky and got about 6 days of sun, which, in Paris during the winter, is unheard of.

December 2004 - Riverdale vs. Oak Ridge Football State Semi Finals - Nashville TN
This was the most challenging shoot I've ever done. Very little lights, and unpredictable plays made this very difficult (the other photographers on the sidelines and I were laughing about how weird it was. Weird, but so much fun!!!) Riverdale won 42-28 on their way to win the State Championship. The quarterback Dave Thomas won Mr. Football for TN, and has the most amazing story of dedication and love I've ever heard. His girlfriend Jacqui McDaniel, was in a horrible accident that left her left side paralized, but their love conquered all in these very difficult times (You will see some photos of them in those shots). Click Here to read it, it will warm your heart!

November 2004 - Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Florida Gators - Nashville TN

Thank you Vanderbilt for allowing me to shoot this great game! The Doores took the lead and had a 17 to 7 lead almost to the half. The Gators scored a TD with 15 sec left in the 2 quarter and never looked back, winning the game 34-17. If you've never been to a Vanderbilt football game, you need to. The worst seat is better than most good seats at other stadiums! Great venue!

October 2004 - Nashville Kats Press Conference - Nashville TN
On assignment for the City Paper, I shot the Nashville Katz Press conference where they announced the signing of 7 new players: QB Bill Whittemore & Leon Murray, WR/DB Jarrick Hillery, Linemen Anthony Herron, Benedict Ibisi, Wes Stephens, and Henry Taylor.
They have assembled quite a team and look very good this year. I was very impressed with how nice all of the players were. Very friendly and talkative. Judging by the way the coach (Pat Sperduto) talks to his players, I can see he is trying to, not only build a team, but a true familly feeling. This should be a great season for them and we wish them the best. :-)

September 2004 - Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars - Nashville TN
We have posted some new pictures of
The Tennessee Titans vs. The Jacksonville Jaguars .
Another great game and another Perfect day for it.
Jacksonville won 15-12 scoring their last touchdown during the last minute of the game
Steve Mc Nair got hurt running one of the plays (bruised sternum - ouch!) .
He should be OK, but we wish him the best.
Even though Volek, in my opinion, is the best backup quater back in the NFL,Get well soon Steve, the Titans need you :-)

September 2004 - Our Portfolio has new look - Easy to Navigate
Well, we've made a lot of changes to our website. Our old portfolio had a navigation bar that did not work with all browsers. Also, it was a lot of work to update.

Well, I've fixed that! Not only is it easier to navigate, but it is easier to update, and it also allows you to rate photos and leave comments on each photos if you want to as well. Please feel free to email us to let us know if you like the new look.

September 2004 - Bought Another Lens - Sigma 50-500mm EX APO RF HSM

I decided to add another lens to my arsenal. This is the Sigma 50-500mm. This fast and quiet lens has a huge magnigication of up to 500mm, making it ideal for sporting events. It is very sharp and versatile. This shoud be a great lens for all types of projects. I'll put it through its paces during the next Titans game.

July 2004 - Photos of Paris, France
I had to go back to France as my father, the great actor, Jean Lefebvre passed away at the age of 84 on July 9th.

I took many photos during this trip and dedicate this series of photos to the loving memory of my father. It has also inspired me to shoot a new book of photos of Paris called: "Reflections of Paris". This book will also be dedicated to the memory of my father.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

May 2004 - Rascal Flatts - In Concert - Nashville TN
As promised, here are the photos of Lyric Street Records recording artists 'Rascal Flatts'. I had never heard them live before, and I was impressed. Great musicians with great personalities!

Their new single 'Mayberry' is #1 on the charts right now, and they have won many awards; Flameworthy, ACM, and CMA, all of that in 4 years! Not bad. Obviously, they deserve it.

I hope you enjoy the photos of Rascal Flatts

May 2004 - Patty Loveless - In Concert - Nashville TN
Well, it's that time of the year again. The world Famous Grammy Block Party! This year was no different from the others. Packed with great people, great food, and plenty to drink. It was the who's who of the music industry. They had many artists play on the great stage they had setup there, including the legendary Grammy and CMA Award winner, Sony Recording Artists 'Patty Loveless'.
This was a great night. The red hot Lyric Street Records recording artists 'Rascal Flatts' were also there performing 'unplugged', which really showcased their musical abilities, as well as their great characters. Great musicians and great singers! Suzanne Kessler, the Nashville Executive Director was nice enough to allow me backstage to shoot some great photos of the group. I'll be posting them in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!
Oh, and congratulations Katie on your beautiful new baby :-)

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the photos of lovely Patty Loveless.

April 26th 2004 - Received New Canon EOS-1D Mark II and 70-200mm 'L' IS Lens
Well, we've done it again. I was one of the first lucky few in the country to get my hands on this amazing camera (outside, of course, from the people shooting for major magazines, such as Sports Illustrated, Time, People, etc... which have had preview models since the Super Bowl).

This camera is simply amazing! Canon's newly developed single-plate CMOS sensor with 8-channel reading technology delivers exceptional image quality and accelerated continuous shooting. Large and extremely sensitive, with approximately 8.2 million effective pixels (8.5 million total pixels), it faithfully captures every nuance of your scene from highlights to shadows. Moreover, extensive noise reduction ensures an extremely high S/N ratio.
With its continuous shooting speed of approximately 8.5fps, though my own shooting shows closer to 9.5 to 10fps, which is incredible, the EOS-1D MARK II is the world's fastest Digital AF-SLR camera (as of January 2004). This record-breaking speed is achieved even when recording in the Large JPEG setting (approx. 3,504 x 2,336 pixels) — a major triumph, considering the EOS-1D's renowned 8fps continuous shooting speed is accomplished at about half this resolution. Moreover, 8.5fps are maintained during maximum bursts of 40 shots (20 shots in RAW format), whether recording in the One-Shot AF or AI Servo AF mode. Bursts are first recorded to memory to ensure maximum speed and then transferred to memory card for storage.
This means this camera is simply the best in the world for sports photography. The speed captures every frame giving me a better chance to choose and get the 'perfect' shot, and the image size makes it ideal for magazine that want to publish 2-page spread of a photo without loosing image quality.
Of course the speed of the Auto Focus combined with a 45 point AF adds to the incredible capabilities of this amazing camera!

Of course with this amazing camera, I had to get a lens that would do it justice, so I also ordered and received the
Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS lens with 1.4x converter.

This lens stays at 2.8, which enables me to get better shots, with faster speeds in lower light. The Image Stabilization makes sure every shot is in focus, even when subjects are moving, and you have to move or hand held the camera. Combined with the 1.4x converter and camera, this in essence gives me a equivalent of 364mm lens at 4.0. Perfect for shooting sports and concert events! A bit on the heavy side, but I guess that's why I work out :-)

So, what does that mean to you? you might ask. Well, it means that this equipment is ideal for sports, concerts, and low light shooting situations that need great zoom in situations. This allows us to shoot in lower light at higher speed, lower ISO, therefore producing sharper, and clearer photos capturing the best shots and giving you more photos to choose from. Also, this means that, by hiring us, you will not only get the best photographers for your projects, but also shot with state of the art equipment which will give you the best photos possible. We use the same equipment used in many of the most popular sports and fashion magazines throughout the world. You can be confident that the end product will be professional from beginning to end.

April 3rd 2004 - NHL - Nashville Predators vs. St. Louis Blues - Nashville TN

I had Box seats to the game, not press seats, which were much higher than I had hoped (between 1st and 2nd Tier).
This explains the lack of sharpness in the photos. I had to shoot at very high ISO and zoomed in at the maximum, but I thought you would enjoy seeing the results anyways, proving what we can do in some of the most challenging situations.

January 2004 - NCAA Convention - Nashville TN
OK, I know, it's been a few months since I've updated the site, but I've been incredibly busy!
Rensselear Institute had a big vote as they were trying to get proposal 65-1 passed to keep them and 7 other schools to get grant to Division I Athletes, even though they are a Division III school, but have one Division I team. They hired me to capture this important event to them

The proposal was approved and everyone was happy. This was a lot of fun to see what goes on behind the scenes of our college Athletic programs. Many of my photos were published in Newspapers around the NY area. Many thanks to Rensselear for choosing us.

Stay tuned! Many more updates coming in the next couple of weeks!!!

August 2003 - NFL Scrimmage Game - Titans Vs. Dolphins Photos - Nashville TN

I can't believe it, but it's Football Season already!!! We have posted some new pictures of a Scrimmage Game between the Tennessee Titans vs. the Miami Dolphins. This gave us a chance to get a good look at the rookies and what to expect this season. Both teams looked great, and ready to play. Since it was just a scrimmage game, no score was kept, just a bunch of 2 minute drills, 10 play sets, etc... It was a lot of fun.

May 2003 - Trick Pony - In Concert - Nashville TN
Well, it's that time of the year again. The world Famous Grammy Awards Block Party! This year was no different from the others. Packed with people, great food, great drinks, and great people. You couldn't turn around without seeing a star. It was the who's who of the music industry. They had many artists play on the great stage they had setup there, including Warner Brothers Recording Artists 'Trick Pony', nominated this year for 5 Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. This was a great night. They even had a big card for Tony Brown. Tony, we are all pulling for you. Please get better soon. You are truly one of the Great Guys in the music industry.
I took some shots of the show. Hope you enjoy them.

March 2003
Well, we've done it again. This time, we've upgraded to the almighty Canon EOS-10D. Got ours on the 14th, which, as far as I know, made me one of the first photographers in Nashville to get my hands on this brand new camera!

The EOS-10D is a major improvement over the D60. It is a 6.5 Megapixel camera that is simply a remarkable piece of equipment. Many of the same features as the D60, but many improvements that make this camera one of the best in the market. Here are just a few of the ones that are important to you and I.

First, the main body is made of Magnesium alloy.
The EOS D60 had a metal substructure but a plastic main body. The EOS-10D now has robust magnesium alloy body which is cool to the touch, and much more resistant to weather changes, which will make it easier to shoot outside in the cold or misty rain. I wouldn't keep shooting if it was pouring rain, but a little mist won't concern me as much.

Second, the AF on this camera has been improved by 100%!!!
This was the biggest gripe by most professional photographers with the D60, is that in low light, it had a tendency to hunt a bit and was slow in Auto Focus. The 10D has taken care of that with the same seven point AF found in the EOS-30. This provides a wider AF coverage, much faster and more accurate AF which works well at lower light levels. This is a significant and noticeable improvement.

Third, the ISO range is extended to ISO 1600, 3200 (H).
The EOS-10D's sensitivity range is of ISO 100 to 3200. Amazingly enough, the 1600 setting is about as good, and in my tests, a little better than the D60's at 800 ISO. That means I can shoot at higher ISO, with lower light, at faster speed and get pictures with even less noise than before. That is simply amazing.

Fourth, It has the new DiGiC Processor.
Canon made a big noise about their development of the DiGiC processor which first made its way into the PowerShot G3 and S45 last year. The same processor is now utilized in the EOS-10D and promises lower power consumption, faster processing and better image quality, which means longer battery life and even better photos.

The images seem much sharper straight out of the camera, but without any artifacts. The colors are incredible, and most importantly, I have not seen any visible moiré at all!!! Canon has simply outdone themselves here.

September 2002 - Morris Day & The Time - Nashville, TN

June 2002
I looked at everything; Novatron, photoflex, chimera, excalibur (though they would have been cool since they match my company's name), White Lightning, etc...
I finally stumbled on the Alien Bees. Heard a lot about them, and since they were made by White Lightning, which has a great reputation, I figured I would give them a try.
The results? Simply AMAZING!!!

I bought 2 strobes: a 1600 and an 800

I've also bought the remote and a bigger softbox (32" x 40") to go with them.

The remote control operates up to 4 AlienBees units at any distance up to 300', using standard telephone type cables. Independently adjusts flash power from full to 1/32 power on each unit, switches all modeling lamps to full power, off or proportional to individual flash powers. Allows camera to fire all four units via sync cord to eliminate false triggering in setups where other flash units are operating.

They have been fantastic! and very constant on flash and contrast. Since they are based out of Nashville, if anything goes wrong, I can get them fixed or replaced that same day if need be. Also, the people there are fabulous and very polite and helpful. How often does that happen anymore.
I just could not ask for anything better!!!

May 2002
We have upgraded to the almighty Canon EOS D60.

This camera is the latest professional Digital SLR (DSLR) on the market. It is a 6.3 Megapixel camera. The reviews on it have been phenomenal and I decided it was time. It uses any of the Canon lenses and I started with 2 lenses: a 50mm 1.8F and a 28-135mm IS lens. The pictures are absolutely incredible. I've also added the battery grip (as you see above) and a 1 GIG memory card.
I cannot say enough about this camera. It is simply amazing.
